Glass angels – light in glass
These glass angels are each handmade using the Tiffany technique. Various pieces of glass are cut, ground, edged with copper foil, and then soldered together. This makes every angel different—even when the same colors are used.
The angels are designed for hanging. On a Christmas tree, of course, but just as lovely in a window, on a branch, or anywhere daylight or lamplight can shine through the glass. This is when the transparent glass truly comes to life, creating ever-changing colors, reflections, and shadows.
Each angel therefore intentionally contains at least one transparent or translucent glass element. During the day, natural light plays with it, and in the evening, artificial light can create a completely different effect.
A standard angel is approximately 11–12 cm high, less than 10 cm wide, and weighs about 55–60 g. It can easily be hung from the metal loop, using a hook or a thin ribbon.
The angels are available individually, but also pair beautifully together. Two, four, or more different angels quickly form a small collection. For Christmas, custom color combinations are possible, schedule permitting. Larger versions can also be made; please allow for a longer production time.
For those wishing to give an angel as a gift, simple, lovely gift boxes are available. One box comfortably fits two angels; depending on the design, space can also be made for three or four.
I use the pictured metal tree myself to present the angels at home and at Christmas markets. The tree is therefore for display purposes and is not included as standard. However, for those dreaming of a complete, ever-evolving glass Christmas tree: a set with approximately 20–25 handmade angels can be curated upon request. A Christmas decoration that doesn't have to disappear after one season, but can be arranged differently every year. 🙂
Standard angel dimensions: approx. 11–12 cm high, less than 10 cm wide
Weight: approx. 55–60 g
Technique: Tiffany technique
Material: glass and metal
Handmade: each piece is unique
